Buna ziua! Studiu etnobotanic".

Excellent response for INTERGEO 2008 in Bremen
Congress and trade fair from September 30 to October 2, 2008 in halls 4 to 7 / Congress focusing on the consequences of possible climate change and its effects, recording of environmental changes and strategies for alternative energy / Applications for GIS Best Practice Award 2008 still possible till June 30, 2008
Bremen/Karlsruhe, May 15, 2008 The specialist and congress trade fair INTERGEO, the world's leading trade fair for geodesy, geoinformation and land management, due to take place from September 30 to October 2, 2008 at the Bremen Exhibition Centre, now has less than a quarter of its planned exhibition space remaining free for potential exhibitors. Around 400 companies and institutions have already decided to showcase their products and services at INTERGEO in the four halls of the Bremen Exhibition Centre. In addition to global and national players, this year's exhibitors also include local organisations and institutions such as Bremen's universities, Geologische Dienst Bremen (Bremen Geological Service) and the Alfred-Wegener Institute. Bremen companies such as Grontmij A&T GmbH and geoVal Informationssysteme GmbH have also decided to take part. On an area covering nearly 25,000 square metres, around 500 companies from almost 30 countries will be appearing at INTERGEO in Bremen, providing a comprehensive overview of the face of the industry today. The enormous diversity of subject areas and technology ranges from data capture, navigation, traffic/logistics and local authorities to special applications in the fields of the environment, risk and disaster management, and 3D visualisation.
"Environmental disasters such as the recent one in Birma and the melting of the polar ice caps and the glaciers in the Alps, along with the dramatic increase in energy prices, not only affect the economy, but will also touch each one of us individually sooner or later. With these concerns in mind, the INTERGEO Congress at this year's event in Bremen will focus on subjects such as "Environment and environmental monitoring", "Maritime themes and polar research", "Strategies for alternative energies" and "Coastal protection and flood risk management". That's why I'm particularly delighted that Sigmar Gabriel, German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, has accepted the role of patron of INTERGEO 2008," says Congress Director Martin Fliege.
Applications for the "GIS Best Practice Award" with prize money totalling Euro 5,000 can still be submitted up to June 30, 2008. The prize is awarded to outstanding GIS projects in the fields of technical innovation, cost-effectiveness or social significance. The prizes will be presented during the opening ceremony of INTERGEO 2008 in Bremen on September 30, 2008.
INTERGEO is held every year at different trade fair venues in Germany. Partners from institutions and businesses in the relevant regions are actively involved in shaping the issues covered at the event. DVW e.V. the German Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management is the organiser of the three-day trade fair and congress, the motto of which is "Knowledge and action for planet Earth".
